My 1949 Desoto which was my late mothers and I got it back 48 months ago...
Was first sold to her in VA new in 1949. The car was driven, by her to California in 1956.
The it went to collector who sat on it from 1970 until I pulled it from his shop, not register by him, a few years back.
The California paperwork had the engine number and not the body number. My 1947 Desoto sold new in CA had the body number by the way.
I had to do some paperwork with THE SPECIAL PROCESSING UNIT OF CA DMV, to get them to swap it. A California Highway Patrol, not local police, had to come to my house and confirm the number on the door. Then send it off to them and they made the change.
Call the SPU not the local office or the 800 number as they do not know anything and 1/2 of everything they think they know is wrong.
These are all the numbers I have for the SPU. May be good may not.
800-777-0133
916-657-6560
916-657-7654
916-657-8506 or 8099
Good luck.
James
James,
FYI, called over to the DMV today and they gave me another number for CA DMV to check YOM plates status: 916-657-8035. Might want to add that to your list.
Thanks,
Jon

My switch just went to crap today. Does anyone know where I can get one? Bernbaum is out.
Thanks,

Wowza, I was going to make it at 0730. I thought that is when it started. But if you're going to be there at 0700, I'll do it.

Weather permitting, coming topless, I'll be there. Forecast is good,.....at the moment.
Topless? Aren't you going to be cold.

OK, I give up. Where we meeting ? What time and where do I park Sunday? Inquiring minds want to know ? Just in case there were plans. if no plans, any ideas ? Local ( within AAA tow ) Sunday is still reserved and open, I don't take many Sunday's off
from being away from my bride so I keep um to a minimum a make um special .
Guys,
Apologies as I did not think that the surgery recovery would be so hard. I was talking with Tony, and my apologies for being delayed...we think that NEXT WEEKEND MARCH 27TH at 0730 to 0900 would be good to meet at Carcadia. PDF of the event that is held the 4th Sunday of every month in Arcadia is below. And I feel terribly sorry Rod, so I promise that if you come, your meal is on me. Carcadia is held at the Denny's parking lot. It's a wonderful event. I'm hoping that Tony will chime in on his experiences at this event. My car is still on the rack and will be for quite some time. But I'll be coming with my 1986 Mercedes 300E.

Would you guys be up for CARCADIA?
Also, I wanted to pass along the idea that in April, some of us could goto the CPW Mopar Spring Fling on April 23rd and April 24th! I have been a couple of times, and they have MoPars of all eras, including 30s to the 80s. We can talk about it if you guys are at Carcadia next week. Here is the website for Spring Fling:

Again, sorry for the change folks. The surgery was a bit brutal and the recovery has been slow.
All my best,
Jon

Don, he's truly a really great guy. He knew I had surgery this week and drove the parts by. Even came in the house, chatted for awhile and just awesome all the way around. I couldn't get up, but I was able to shake his hand.

Hey guys! I saw MikeMaker today! He came by my house to drop off some parts and some really great art! I'll take photos later and post them. I wish Norm were still around to tell this to, but I know the rest of you are...so I was told to tell you guys "MikeMaker says hello!"

Gents, sorry about the delay. I have had some medical issues that took me away from interests. I am going in for surgery on Monday, but I think I should be good by next weekend. I was thinking we could meet in one of three places.
1. The next Carcadia in Arcadia
2. Bob's Big Boy in Burbank on a Friday night
3. Norm's Diner on La Cienega
4. Andy's Diner in Pasadena
5. The Peterson Auto Museum
What do you guys think?

Alright gents, once again I call on your grand MoPar loveliness to request a get together. But this time, in Los Angeles County. Who would be up for Sunday, March 20th? I've got the perfect place for us to meet.
Thanks,
FG.

Great Photo Tony, I think it's great that you drive the tires off your ride.
Thanks for these Tony! And Rod, that's the only way to do it! Drive it till the tires need replacing.

Okay, I could use the Meetup. And it has federated authentication too, so people don't have to create new accounts.

Gents, if some of you are on Facebook, I have thought about putting together a SoCal P15-D24 Group so we can keep in touch. Would anyone be up for that?
Jon

And in retrospect, we should have taken a group photo.

Gents,Names to faces would be nice. . .
But the other thread actually started for an event in a different year and it would have been nice to have this year's get together in a separate thread anyway so I am not adverse to leaving this thread stand on its own.
I agree with both of you, however I like the idea of a separate thread so here it is. In the future, and there will be more events....I will try and keep them, together. I would like to remember all the names, and associate them with their board names....but my memory is crap. I know that Jeff (White Dodge), Givin (Woody), Tony (White Cranbrook), Oak, Derek (38 P?, red and black), and Bill (48 P15, Blue) were there. The kind gent with the green truck, his name escapes me. He gave us Dodge tshirts and it is his birthday today.
I should remember them all but I am on a deficit of sleep this weekend...apologies.
I was so excited about this event, meeting new people and the reliability of my car. I am just so glad that I dont feel alone in the MoPar Socal scene anymore amongst all the GM, Chevy and Ford crowds.

On the 1949, convertible, it is not in the rear, I am assuming you meant on the arch as is on some cars, but on the mid frame section before the wheel arch.
James
God, thank you from one San Franciscan to another. I have been under the blinking car recently and have been looking for that. I hadn't found it and now I know exactly where to look!

Folks,
I have been in communications about my car's Sun Visor and fender skirts with the folks over at Agape. They have sunvisors and for a pretty reasonable price as well.

Hey @Plymouthy Adamsyou wouldn't happen to know where to get the square HEI coil would you? I just want to make sure I have more than one source of these.
Thanks,
