  1. Once again my car ADD has kicked in again and I got to thinking about windshield wipers. What set this off was someone posted about Newport Engineering wiper kits on another forum and I went to their site to see if they had a kit for my 40 sedan. Now my question is the wiper arms that were on my car are not complete and I was told to use 46-48 arms as you can get parts easier for them. I seen that Newport's kits are different from 40-46 to 48 plus you have the difference of vacuum versus electric. What is the difference between the years is it just the wiper trans arms or ? Whats the difference between vacuum and electric besides the obvious? I have a pair of 48 plymouth arms and pivots I was planning on using and I also have a set from a 46-48 mopar that have a nut that screws down on to the splined shaft but I don't have the pivots for them. Sorry for so many confusing questions as I'm trying to learn about the older mopars and what may or may not interchange. Thanks, shawn
  2. Congrats fireball, I remember it seeing it on the hamb when it was orange. shawn
  3. Is it true that running boards were an option for that year? shawn
  4. Cowdodge, not to hijack your post but what kind of hitch are you using to tow your trailer with? Is it bumper mounted or frame mount? I have a 64 Sero Scotty I'm planning on towing with my 40 dodge tudor sedan when I get the car finished. Nice car and camper by the way. thanks, shawn
  5. ESPO, I've dealt with them before, very nice. I purchased a set of hemi springs for my 73 roadrunner I used to own.
  6. Mr. Horne, thanks for the info. That would seem to fit my situation, the mid 40's window trim is slightly bigger especially around the corners than the window in my 40 dodge. Thanks again
  7. The Harry's U-pull-it in Hazelton has about 90% of their old stuff behind an electrified fence. Alot of it stacked on top of each other. There is some behind the Kress part of the operation amongst them a 4 door 40 dodge. Once and awhile a couple show up in the regular yard though.
  8. Is there any difference between rear stainless trim from a 40 dodge tudor sedan to say 46-48 plymouth of the 4 door kind? I purchased rear trim from said 4 door but does not seem to match up to my 40 tudor. I understand the rear windows are the same and from what I've read on the internet that the body shells didn't change from 40 to 48 but Steele rubber parts lists different part numbers for the window seal between 40 and 46-48. Thanks for the help. later shawn
  9. Hi everyone, I thought I'd post an intro and some info on my car. My name is shawn and I'm another guy that usually hangs out on the HAMB(go by plmczy over there). I'm currently working on (albeit very slowly) a 1940 Dodge tudor sedan that I picked up for $100 back in the spring of 2004. The whole front sheetmetal was welded together and the lower rear portion of the front fender was cut for a tilt front end. The stock front suspension was replaced with a late 70's gm sub, not me , previous owner. I cut the front sheetmetal apart at the welds to store it. I've been collecting better sheetmetal over the last three years, never knew this year Dodge was hard to find parts for, lol. The plan is to do a mild kustom with it, lowered 2",starburst hubcaps, maybe skirts and some cheater cut out's, you know to wake up the neighbors, haha. I'm sure I'll have some questions on some swapping of parts. later shawn
