Thanks Ed for the offer. I found an old truck pan that needed a little work but seems to work just fine. Btw, i'm right outside of Nashville.

Your right Bob. I learned that today the hard way. Any idea on where to get a 23" pan? Vintage PW? My 230 had the dipstick in the block and it wont be functional any longer. Thanks for you help.

I just did a scan of the forums and I think I answered my own question. I just need to reverse the oil pan and put the plug infront! This place never ceases to amaze me!

This is similar to my situation. I put a rebuilt 230 into my 49' B1C and quickly noticed I didn't have alot of clearance between the steering linkage and the oil pan. On my maiden voyage there was even some contact between the two. Forgive me for my ignorance but is there different oil pans for 218/230's that maybe give more clearance? If not what do you guys recommend? Thanks as always.
