HELLO, I have a one owner 40 Dodge 4 dr sd 3 on the tree.The previous owner had shifter/linkage problems & the car sat for over a year. The clutch disk was frozen when I got the car , I was able to free the disk up , I had the car up on jack stands & was running it in first gear & it started making a noise like a bad u joint . I shut the car off & lubed the joint's ( trans is full with oil) started it again & the noise was gone @ first then it started making the noise again & the car stalled. The problem now is with car on jack stands you can turn the drive shaft & it will turn the rear wheels but if you let the clucth out the car stalls & it won't turn the drive shaft. I 'm thinking the shifter wasn't fully engaging the gears & the trans is locked between 2 gears but I don't undrstand why the output shaft is free. I have never had a dodge trans apart so I would appreciate any input about the problem.Thank You Tony
