  1. pulled the pan. no suprises. good. a bit of sludge. Only thing I can see is some rust around the bottom of 3 of the piston skirts. I have trans fluid, pb blaster, acetone and kroil soaking in the cylinders. remember it sat since 59. how long should I expect to wait for things to loosen up?
  2. pullin the pan tomarrow. we will see
  3. I was just wanting to know how close the crank ran to the pan. The dent looks to be about 2 inches wide by 4 inches long. Maybe ran the pan into something? can the pan be taken down in the car? remove the steering cross rod and the oil pan bolts?
  4. I think what I have here is a 230. in the front of the pan how close does the crank come to the oil pan when # 1, 2 and three pistons are down at there lowest point. not all at the same time of course. my pan has a rather large upward dent near the front of the pan. right betweenish #1 and #2. Maybe 1 1/2 - 2 inches up in. could this hold my motor from turning over?
  5. Oh I bought it that day. its home now. pulled the carpet only to find my own reflection staring back at me in the nice glossy black paint on the floorboards. no joke. this car is super solid. re work the brakes, buff it up and drive it. more door or not its very hard to find em like that at all. it cost less that 1 coker white wall tire:D is that a deal?
  6. inspected last in 1960. I found it going to a yard sale. it was in a barn. stupidly solid. needs brakes gone over and tank cleaned out. what do ya think?
