  1. that was exactly my tought too! But I kinda like this car... It really looks good in this "jacket" except for the price he's asking... Live rates at 2009.12.18 20:21:02 UTC 15,000.00 EUR = 21,502.98 USD 1 EUR = 1.43353 ; 1 USD = 0.697578 EUR
  2. http://www.kapaza.be/Autos/Oldtimers/21128760/Dodge_staf_car.html But hey... it's in Dutch! :-) But here are the pics of the Dodge!

  4. and some pictures of flush mount fender skirts on a 4door. bought on epay from a certain biscayne. Fast shipping, no doubt. But the skirts do need some modification (they are rather flat, while the fender is curved) The size of them was/is correct! grtz, Kurt
  5. Tomorrow I get my new 145Ah battery. This was the heaviest one I found here (at least, the heaviest one that fits my battery-tray). Hopefully it will do its best for a long time The ordered master switch is the one in the picture, without the fuse. Claybill: So you probably visited Kid's Rythem 'n Blues bar... He lives in Boom? I did my Firefighters-training in Boom It's not that far from Borsbeek. When you visit him, let me know... Maybe we can cruise trough Antwerp with the P15?! Grtz, Kurt
  6. since december 2008 I know... way too late... but hey, at least I saw the light!
  7. okay okay... consider it done I tought that a member album in the photo gallery would be enough... But are there any toughts on what kind of battery I should take?? I don't want to get any electrical troubles by simply buying the wrong battery! Cheers, Kurt
  8. Greg G: I did not check that... It is certainly worth to try. However, I'm pretty confident that it is a simple battery-problem. Anyhow, I'm going to check it! Martybose: Ouch... my bad! I live in Antwerp...Belgium... A couple of miles too far But I appreciate the offer! Thanks! grtz, Kurt
  9. Thank God I live in Belgium... only some small unhazardous critters overhere... jeez... I would crap my pants if I would find that!!
  10. Hi there! Last 2 trips with my p15 ended up push-starting the car. My battery was as dead as a turkey on thanksgiving, eventough I just made a "several miles" tour. after checking the p15-d24-site (reference-section), I tought the optima 850cca would be the best option. (the car doesn't drive daily (neither weekly...)) Unfortunately, that battery is no longer available. The battery that was used was a 600cca wet cell. The p15-d24-site recommends 685 cca or 785 cca... Could there be any problems with stock voltage regulators if I try another 6v battery? I'm not a complete noob... some parts are missing... but I appreciate some hints and tips! Grtz, Kurt PS: also going to install a master switch! 'cause I think I have a leaking circuit somewhere... (still the original, but looking good, wires)
  11. Those chopper bicycles are pretty common seen in Belgium since a couple of years... As you stated allready, I also think it is a money-issue (altough those bicycles eat a lot of money as well!). But there are some shops pushing the limits in peddle-powered customs! nonetheless, it was a great day, fabulous atmosphere and some very nice vehicles! grtz, Kurt
  12. Hey there! 18th of July: Antwerp Vintage Reunion. This was the very first meeting for my P15. It was a great day with some rockabilly bands and some nice rides! (cars and bikes) On the end of this outstanding day, me and my P15 received an award! *happy* For those who are interested: Photolink on ruffrodders Photolink on myspace There was also an original '38 P6. greetz, Kurt
  13. kfxinsd007, that one is truly a nice one!! Don't let this one go! A unusual sight, with the "bullbar" on the rear... I can dig it!
  14. Actually... the story goes: First owner bought it back in 1948 (duh...). He kept it clean & took great care of the car. When his grand son turned 21(or 16?), he offered him the keys. Grand son replied: "What the h*ll?! I don't need this old sh*t! I want a new car!!!" OG owner: "In that case, I put it on eBay and enjoy the money myself!" There is one more 4door P15 in Belgium. It's located in the French part of Belgium, the Ardens. Never had the chance to see it. But that car would be a long term restauration in progress, I've heard... In the car club, our president drives a late '49 Dodge coupe (custom). And a club's friend drives a '53 Plymouth (mild custom & I believe it was a 2dr sedan, not sure ). That's all I know... Grtz, Kurt
  15. Hey BobT, I must admit... I'm not a great mechanic... So I wanted to buy a car that was in good condition. Originally, this car was from Kansas 3 or 4 years ago. My mechanic bought it via eBay. He fine tuned the engine again. Never had to do body works. For as far as I know, I'm the 2nd registered owner (my mechanic never registered it on his name or company). Then after he had his fun with the engine, he wanted to sell the car. After almost half a year on the market, I tought "Hey, this car is something nice! I buy it!!" (that was december 2008) I only installed the sunvisor, fender skirts, fender guides, spotlight, lighted hood ornament, turn signals, traffic light finder and a dash fan. Also had to replace the heat gauge (that was an adventure!! pffft... ) Long story, short story... yes, I bought it in Antwerp The pictures below are showing the car right before I bought it. Greetz, Kurt
  16. Quote: Looks to me like they sell radial tires in Antwerp. I haven't got a clue... I bought the car with these tires... But for as far as I know, that shouldn't be a problem. Quote: I'm curious about the aerials above the headlights. Do they serve as turn-signals? Requirement for registering in Germany/EU? I don't recall ever seeing a car here in the States so equipped. Those antennas are C-Mor fender guides. Just as BobT told. Only to know where my fenders are! They don't light up when I put the lights on... (on eBay, there are a couple of them. Just search for C-MOR.) They aren't required in BELGIUM , I just tought they would look nice on the car. and actually... They do (but that's my tought!). Quote: The fortress looks interesting as well. It was built before the Franco-Prussian war and I am assuming the Belgians of the time were also worried regarding a unifying Germany under Bismarck? Visit the Wikipedia page about H.A. Brialmont. There you can find some background information. If more is needed, just google: Brialmont fortress Antwerp. But I think it's enough history lesson for now? .
