  1. I've got that on order. Haven't received it yet. Truck makes it more complicated. Wondering what the acceptable tolerance is. I'll try to take some more notes this weekend
  2. I'm not sure. Are there measurements and procedures to verify. Thanks
  3. Hi guys, I was out in the garage tonight. Something told me to start measuring on the 37 pt50. Turns out the back right fender is about one inch taller than the left side as measured down the centerline of the wheel. Front right side is about a half inch lower than left front. Tires look about equal but I'll double check tomorrow. Body doesnt look like it's ever been hit, but dont know for sure. Could the frame be slightly bent? Are there measurements I can make to be sure? If not,is something else wrong? Or is that just expected for an 80+ yo truck? Thanks
  4. Excellent! I got them apart and soaking now. just wanted to make sure i wasnt going to destroy anything. hoping to fire this old girl up for first time since 98. thanks for all your help!
  5. i just started working on my 37. i have the same filter that Crazyred has. how does the top assembly come apart? is that spring keeper under the lid just pressed on? can i just pull it off? the filter has sat off of the truck for decades so i want to clean it up a bit before firing motor. thanks
  6. Hi guys, Bumping this up for clarification. Ive got a bypass oil filter like the one on the left in post 5. inlet on the top. Id like to clean the filter housing and lines as they are really dirty and havent been installed for years. Id also like to know proper installation instructions. Does the hex head on top fully unscrew for cleaning? Is there any gasket/seal between the hex head and the "terminal lug" of the inlet connection? For installation, do i spin the top on and then clock the inlet fitting to the lines and then torque to spec? thanks guys!
  7. Its coming out past the washer/packing ring. I can see if i can find an oring that may stretch over or try packing the valve. ive done that on a few faucets. ill keep you posted with what i end up with. thanks guys!
  8. Thanks guys. I'll give that a try.
  9. Hate to bring this back up but wanted to get clarification on a remote starter switch. I've got the foot starter on my 37. Would like to use remote starter from engine bay. I don't understand where to make the connection at the starter solenoid. I see a single battery connection on starter solenoid. Dont see anywhere else to wire up remote starter leads. Can you help me understand? Thanks
  10. Well, looking around the internet, seems like some of these radiators had different drains. Made me look at mine a little closer. I see threads there. So, im guessing that the petcock threads into the block and the block threads into the tube. So, maybe that tube is threaded to receive 1/4 NPT? Ill find out soon enough. By the way, do any of you guys have this tube sticking out of your radiator? Again, seems like ive seen a few flavors in my limited research. thanks!
  11. Hi all, Im new here and am just starting to revive my grandpas 37 Plymouth PT50. We got in running 25 years ago and it was the last thing he drove before he passed. I was with him on that drive Anyway, i wanted to flush the old coolant. Loosened the petcock, drained the coolant. But when i tried tightening back up, it still drips when closed. i cranked a little more, but not too hard. Leaked. Pulled it out and see a tiny little washer thats seen its better days. This petcock doesnt look like the typical npt 1/4". Do you guys know where to find a replacement? Oh, and Merry Christmas! thanks!
