  1. Was wondering if someone had a pic (or would be willing to take a pic) of the routing of the front to rear brake line for a 40 Plymouth. I'd like to run it in the stock location and it appears to run to the inside of the outer left frame rail for a while until it reaches the rear rubber hose? It's really the routing from the front block past the pedals and under the driver seat I'm not sure of. Thanks in advance. Scott.
  2. Thanks guys. Here's a link to a scanned PDF of the 1940 Plymouth, Chrysler, Dodge, and Desoto radio installation and owners manual. This is the entire brochure and is easier to read. Scott. http://mysite.verizon.net/sms40/40_radio.pdf
  3. Here's some detail from the 1940 Plymouth radio install booklet. Fig 6 in the lower right reads: "Install the generator condenser on the generator. It must be mounted under the ground wire screw and connected to the "A" terminal. Scott.
  4. Thanks Rodney! When I look in the sender hole, it appears that the smaller tube connects to the (inside) bottom of the tank. When I look at the (outside) bottom of the tank near the center, I can see a very neat welding job as pictured. Was this supposed to be a drain and someone closed it up? Thanks again. Scott.
  5. It's actually an optical illusion in the picture. The tube is separate and runs parallel to the filler neck. So it looks like it should connect to a separate hose. The tank was installed with some eye bolts in such a way that it added to the overall length of the straps. I wish I took a picture of that! So I'm not sure if this is the actual tank or not?
  6. I'm wondering if the fuel tank I have is actually from my 1940 Plymouth? This was installed "creatively". It did 'seem' to fit under the car and when set up with the filler and hose, the spout correctly lines with with the opening in the rear fender. The tank is almost 39 or 40 inches long. If it is correct, what is that smaller metal tube for? If its a vent, where does it connect? It runs inside the tank and appears to attach near the bottom center. Your help is appreciated! Scott.
  7. Here is a picture of the bracket on the left. Since the sheath that covers the brake cable is 42" long and this bracket attaches at the end of the sheath, it is not likely that it sits on the transmission due to the short length.
  8. I was hoping one of you 40 owners would be able to help wth the mount point of the hand brake cable. It's been about 10 years since I removed it and the pics I took do not help. There is a small bracket at the brake end of the cable that has two bolt holes. I dont recall where it mounts...whether at the frame rail or some other point. If you have a description or a pic, it would help greatly. Many Thanks! Scott.
