  1. My temp gage in my 52 cranbrook is not working and I can't seem to find any info on how to fix it. Has anyone had this issue or know how to fix it?
  2. Ok so I am having trouble adjusting the Cowl Vent, I can make it shut properly and seal but then it won't open very wide or I can make it open fully but it won't close and seal properly, does anyone know how to adjust the cowl vent.
  3. Thank you so much for the pics, this will help me out a lot.
  4. This helps a lot thank you
  5. Ok thank you I will go and look at it
  6. Do you think the arm that attaches to the lever is on the wrong side?
  7. I am putting my cowl vent back together and not sure if I am connecting the vent controls the right way, if I push the lever down to open the vent or try to close it the vent barely moves. The vent will not seal when closed I have attached a picture of how I thought it want together.
  8. Is this a 52 cranbrook? If so do you have a picture of the lever that opens and closes the vent. I just replaces my seal and am now having issues trying to get the vent to open and close properly
  9. That is a good idea its short by a little bit.
  10. Yeah I got mine from Rockauto and it seems to short and if I stretch it one end always comes up and it does not sit flat. Trying to figure this thing out and wondering if I was to use a sealant on it if it would stay down or come up.

  12. Idk how it was solved
  13. I am working on my cowl vent at the moment, I have the vent off and just got the rust off of where the seal goes. I bought a seal from Rockauto and tried to put it in place to see if it fits and one end always comes up if I try to stretch it. My question is where is a good place to buy a seal that will fit? Thanks in advance
  14. This is not always the case, I have a 52 cranbrook and thought my Generator was bad after taking off the battery cable, took the Generator to someone that rebuilds them and he tested it on his machine and said it was in great shape, it was putting out 7 volts and 15 amps. The guy said my Voltage Regulator more than likely was is the problem.
  15. I had my cranbrook at a shop that specializes in restoring and we charged the battery then as the car was running disconnected the battery and the car wanted to die so they said that was in indicator that the Generator was bad.
  16. Ok thank you so much
  17. I do have a question on replacing the cowl gasket, is there a sealant that I need to but down first?
  18. Ok so I figured it out, someone disconnected the cowl vent arm and sealed the vent I got the vent open and see how they disconnected everything.
  19. Running into a problem and if you guys can help me out I really appreciate it, so on my 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook the cowl vent is stuck in the closed position the seal around it is falling apart and I am going to replace it but it won't open. The lever in the car to open it does not work, if I press it down nothing happens. I have the radio off and looking in and trier to push up on it with no luck.
  20. Thank you so much, they do rebuilt Generators for $350.
  21. Does anybody know where I can get a new generator for a 1952 Cranbrook or possibly someone that rebuild them, thank you.
