  1. Good afternoon, I am having some fender skirts for my 1946 Royal painted black; however, the auto body shop is having trouble finding a modern code. I would also like to keep a little for touch up. I do know that they used lacquer based paints in the past. Does anybody have a suggestion or code from Ditzler or Dupont with a modern number? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Robt
  2. Sir, Thank you for the info; would you know of a source for the rubber mat for the front of the Royals? Thanks, Robt
  3. Michael, Thanks for the advise, contacted them and ordered samples for headliner. Thanks, Robt
  4. Hi, I am redoing my '46 Chrysler interior. I am using it as a daily driver coming up this spring. The interior is tan with brown carpet. The seat upholstery is in acceptable condition. What was the original carpet ie the name and pile? Is there a good source for ready made carpet that is correct? The headliner is no good as well; is there a source for good pre made headliners? Also, my door panels, trunk mats and kick panels need replacing. Is there a source for tan door panels already done? Is there a source for kick panels and rubber trunk mats? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Robt
  5. Tooth washer in place sir; took apart and put a "pinch" of dielectric grease! Thanks!
  6. Mr. Backs, Thank you for the advice sir; I started with checking the grounds and found that the ground for the dash assembly which is located under the Generator regulator was corroded. Cleaned up and it's working fine. Thank you, Robt
  7. Ken, thank you; yes it has a handbrake warning light that's activated when the ignition is on and the brake is engaged. I'll check and clean all connections and switches. Thanks
  8. Hi, I'm a new member, thanks for having me. I have a 1946 Chrysler Royal I'm working on; however, I have a problem with the instrument/dash turn signal arrow lights. I cleaned out sockets and changed all the turn signal bulbs (6 V system) on the car. When the parking brake is engaged, the turn signals on the exterior blink nice and slow, and the dash arrows are bright. When I disengage the parking brake, the turn signals on the exterior blink faster and the dash arrows dim. Any thoughts or help? Thanks, Robt
