    now to find one that will fit my 1940 dodge 4 door. My rear end is 60 inches so i need one that or 58 so i can put fat tires on it.

    Is there anyway to make that rear-end stronger so it will work. Or does it have to be replaced with a complete rear end like 741 or 742 or 489.

    what kind of rust converter. Once I cut all rust to make sure it all gone.

    So that is what it is called rockers ok. I think my drivereside is OK i am going to double check that side. But passenger side is bad i keep finding dirt when I break the rust away then a lot of dirt keeps falling out.the one picture that still shows all the metal but it is very soft and I can see dirt behind it.

    I have fixed all rust except this.took old door sills off and this is what I found. I went under and all kinds of dirt was falling out of rust. 2 questioned does any body know where to get sill plates for 1940 dodge d14 or what have u guys done for sill plates. And what do u guys think I should do cut and weldpieaces of metal in which I do not know how to do. I have a welder in the box never used it yet because I don't know how yet. Or cut from front door to back door out and replace whole thing. Thanks in advance.

    Probably because it was out of state first my 2 are California only and the both have serial number on the pink slip.

    Do you know where I can get them without the number 2 I can see the numbers but the one thats far gone I don't know what the number is.

    can u buy that now and will it work for my 1940 dodge I bought turnsignal with new original wiring from Rhode Island but the car did not come with turn signals in the dash.

    my serial number is different from my vehicle number is that right. For 1940 dodge deluxe D 14. And can anybody tell me how to left other numbers from metal plates that are worn. And why so many different metal plates.

    Morparmall.com has all gauges but speedo but they are expensive.

    This is with grill removed those are the screw holes from front.i have to find new screws. I have a better grill to put on after I pull the flat six. Getting it ready for 318. Then I am going to have the flat six rebuilt and painted and put in my original dodge. That motor runs great and only has 50000 on it. But I wont a rebuilt one in the original 1940 dodge that I have.

    I believe it is the same width as yours and sounds like same materials use I had everything on that car rechromed. Mine screws in from the front of the car.
