  1. Here is another link to try. Truck giveway Scroll down the page to enter to win the truck.
  2. I saw this today and thought it was pretty neat. A american artist has restored a 1949 dodge pickup to giveaway. He is using this to get his name out. I thought it was neat to do since he didn't use the conventional chevy or ford builds like everyone else does. Here is a link to join the giveaway if anyone is interested: Truck Giveaway
  3. I bought one a few years back and it had a uni-body construction. I was going to use it for the front clip under my 50 but have since decided to go back original. So I would probably make sure it has a full frame and not just the front clip.
  4. Yeah they look almost identical to Dodge caps. I remember watching that episode on overhaulin thinking that they look alot like dodge caps and was wondering why they would put dodge caps on a ford bus and then i saw it a little closer.
  5. Thats not Dodge caps. Thats Foose wheels. Chip Foose is the one that customized the bus for him.
  6. Truck looks great. Congrats on the progress! Keep the progress pics coming.
  7. I live in Elizabethton, TN 37643. It is in the very tip of Tennessee.
  8. All types of ramcharger frames will work. They were produced from 74-93. The 2wd models are the best for this though. They already have the lower front end. I don't have any pics. The guy I know that did this has since sold the truck. He said the only thing he had to do was make a couple of cab mounts. The wheel spacing lines up perfect. I actually bought a ramcharger for this purpose but have since decided to go back all original since I have most of the original parts. Hope this helps you out some more. I have a ramcharger frame I would be willing to sell if interested. I live in east tennessee though.
  9. You can replace the whole frame with a ramcharger frame and everything fits up nicely. That is if you use a mopar engine.
  10. There is a 1950 Dodge on ebay for $500. Has a very nice set of stainless grille bars from what I can see. The only problems are that it is on a c$@#* s-10 frame and is in las vegas, nv. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1950-Dodge-Pick-Up-Truck-Body-and-S-10-Chasis_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a543Q7c39Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem330277365951QQitemZ330277365951
  11. How well did the ramcharger frame workout for you. They say they are one of the best fits for the pilot-house trucks. I have one and was wondering if it was worth keeping.
  12. I would like to mention another super trucker amongst us. It would be Dale Uhrich, he had some very nice grille bars and I wanted to buy them but I didn't have the money at the time. Dale being the super trucker he is sent them to me on good faith and told me to send him the money when I got a chance. Its people like these super trucker that make it fun to work on these old trucks. Thanks to Dale and everybody else on this site who has helped me out.
  13. Here is a picture of my first coat on the golf cart. I have since put on 5 more coats but forgot to take pictures. I am up to 1000 grit sandpaper. So far everything looks good. The first couple of coats had alot of orange peel but after wet sanding they have faded away. This job takes alot of time but if you are not pressed for time this would be a great way to paint.
  14. I found this on ebay today. It would be great for anyone looking for a tailgate. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1950-DODGE-TRUCK-BED-REAL-GOOD-SHAPE-LOOK-HERE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6783QQihZ019QQitemZ290084709960QQrdZ1
  15. I don't care how many words you guys mispell. I am here for the knowledge of these old trucks that you guys have. I can figure out what you guys are trying to say. None of us are perfect. If we were, we wouldn't be on here asking for advice. Speaking of all the knowledge, I would like to thank everyone for all the knowledge that has been passed on to me. This site has become a part of my daily routine now. So guys lets stick to what we know best, which is trucks!
