  1. I would drain the oil and pull the filter and look for metal .If that looked good I would inspect the oil pump, the pickup might be clogged or the tube might be sucking air cavitatating the pump . Good luck
  2. I spray wd-40 on the the bricks in my lobster pots .lobsters really love that stuff ! P.S that may be illegal too
  3. The problem sounds like its NOT base on fuel demand or delivery .I'd check the distrubtor for cracks moisture or crabon build up .next vac leak (tighten down those carb nuts) and then sticky intake valve .

That looks like corrosion pitting (rust).If it were me I'd put a mic on it and try to get a idea of how deep it is , then you'll know if a overbore will take it out .Your compressions good ,I would put it back together,fix the oil leaks and run it until I had enough cake to rebuild . Save the rings for the rebuild.
  5. The clips look like this. Neil your memory is fine ,I've seen these clips alot around brake systems to hold flex hoses and to hold brake shoes to backing plates .Take care of that memory neil I will need it .
  6. Search is over, found them at the third and oldest NAPA parts store .The last two in the drawer , and they were freebies.Thanks guys for the advice and direction . simple pleasures.
  7. I'm looking for the retainer clips that go on the ends of the brake & clutch pedal shaft on my 1947 d24 I think they call them horseshoe clips .No one seem to have them ,i've tried C clips E clips and retainer rings but they don't fit right.

I just inherited a 1947 dodge buisnessman's coupe.The car is complete and in very good condition .The only real problem is the floor .The rear window leaked for years and soaked into the padding under the mat and rotted much of the floor .My question is does anybody make replacement floor pans or is this a fabrication job.. thanks
  10. 3m make an adheisive called 1300L or scotch-weld its a neoprene high performace contact adhesive and it works well.
