Bumper guards on a P15

There was a discussion a while back about bumper guards....did they come with the car or were they ordered separately. Still don't know for sure, but this picture in the Parts Manual shows the car WITH front guards, and WITHOUT rear ones.

...at the Detroit plant. In the photo, you see just about every configuration of bumper guards you can imagine. Some with none, some with three on the front, most with two. You can't see the rear bumpers, but another photo I have with P15s being loaded on a tranport truck to be sent to a dealer, shows several P15s with bumper guards on the front and rear of the car.
