48WingNut Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Can somebody please tell me if a rebuild kit for a BXVD 3 will work on a BXV 3 Stromberg carb? I'm having a tough time figuring numbers out. I know I have a BXV 3 carb but the only 6 digit number I can find is 382884 in a half moon stamping on the body right under the choke plate rod on the drivers side. Is this the right spot? All the numbers I see for the kits are in the 380--- series. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if you know where I can get a kit that would be helpful also. Thanx! 48WN Quote

Steven Hood Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 And just to let you know from our e-mails back and forth, I have the same number on my carb, as best as I can tell, as yours. I am not in a position to take my carb off right now, but the best I can clean it up right now shows the same number. I believe it must be a part number. Quote
48WingNut Posted December 20, 2006 Author Report Posted December 20, 2006 Sounds good Steve. Thanx a bunch. 48WN Quote

Jocko_51_B3B Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 I have a spare engine that I removed from a 1950 Dodge B3B. The engine code is T172 which is correct for a 1950 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup. But it has a Stromberg carburetor when I believe it should have a Carter. Did Dodge use Stromberg AND Carter in its 1950 Dodge B3Bs or is this something done by a previous owner? Will a Stromberg work OK on this engine? Quote
rkldesign Posted June 17, 2015 Report Posted June 17, 2015 My 1950 Dodge Route van had a stromberg as well. It runs great! My engine size is a 230cu. Quote
