The young man in Springfield, MO who purchased the car seems to like it

pretty well. Has begun working on it and trying to get it usable for a

show in Sept. He plans on putting a Chevy V8 in it for starters just to

get it going, then overhaul a 6 to put in ultimately. Wants to keep

the car close to original in the long run. You can see the original color

of the car on the firewall.

He has sanded on that surface rust and primed the outside....which it

needed badly.

Hopefully things will go OK on his venture. At least he's been keeping

me posted for now.

Bob, good to see another Mopar going back into service.

Maybe he could get another flattie from somehere for the time being, Missouri must have a lot of flatheads around.

That would sure save him a lot of work in going to a SBC, then going back to a flattie, a lot of work in both prospects.

He might be better off to try and find another flattie now and swap it in..........PS not that there is anything wrong with having a SBC

If he were to put a flathead back in, he would also have to deal with the

automatic transmission.....which may work ok, but I imagine it leaks quite

a bit judging from the number of tranny fluid containers found in the trunk

upon purchase. Not sure what he's going to do with the power steering,

as it was run off the rear end of the generator.

He's installing the v8 and a trans for now. I wrote and told him I have

a 50 Dodge engine in the garage, but it also needs an overhaul. May be

a bit better than what's in the car. But the potential problem with that

Dodge motor is how things attach to the end of the crankshaft. Plyms

have studs, Dodges have holes for attaching fluid drive. Have no idea

what's needed for the powerflite automatic.
