David Maxwell Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 ...from the early `40's (model 601, 602, 801, and 802) that were used in furniture during World War II. I came across one in an antique store once and was amazed to see an 802 in a sofa side table. Well, it turns out that Motorola found this to be a convienant way of getting rid of the huge inventory of radios that had produced for Chrysler products just before automobile production was discontinued. Tonight, I came across a website that shows the same setup I was talking about and goes into detail regarding the use of Motorolas in furniture. bob westphal Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Very interesting article. I've always said that these old MoPar radios were the best sounding radios on the market. I used one in my repair shop in the early sixties. I set it on the bench hooked to a battery and some old speakers and tuned to the local rock 'n roll station. Quote
