62rebelP23 Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 it used to be common for unsold cars to be re-titled by the dealer as the next year model. model year production also overlapped when there were multiple factories building the same car; not all of them necessarily began new model production simultaneously. cars built in late '48 and still unsold at the end of the year simply got sold as '49's. Chrysler also ran late getting new models into production riding the wave of WW2 vets coming home. fast forward to today, when some unlucky dealers still have '06 models on the lot and CAN'T retitle them! steveplym Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 May not have brought much as when you search 46-48 plymouth that auction would not come up. Listed only under '49 plymouth. Glad you posted that link here, very nice car. Wondering what would be a fair price for this car? 10K? Quote
