I need some help. AAJ brakes is going to try and help me with a dual MC for my brakes but needs to know what the distance is from the frame bolt up area to the steering gear which limits how big the MC can be. My truck is torn apart so I cannot mock up the steering assembly to see how much room I have to work with. Can anyone give me a hand? Greatly appreciated!

Shane

BTW the disc brakes are on. If anyone is doing the Akers kit just make sure and mount the brackets facing rearward. If you don't you run into the front shock mounts.

Here is a pic I just took as I'm reassembling my ph ...so the front sheetmetal is off....

It is approx 6 1/2 inches from bellhousing to steering box. I'm planning on using this m/c with my disc brake kit...if you find a good dual m/c that will work will you let us know brand and part number pls? thx

I measured my 1953 P/U and there is 7 1/2" between the steering gear box and the cross member. That does not count any grinding that you may have to do to mount the M/C. I am still using thew stock M/C with front disc from AAJ and a newer 8 1/4" mopar rear 3:55.
