Joe Flanagan
I converted my 49 to discs in the front. Will the stock hose work, or do I have to get something longer? Thought I saw somewhere that if you convert you can no longer use the stock hoses. I don't happen to have mine handy to see if they'll reach. Andydodge
I would be using the brake hoses that the discs came with if they are a factory style of caliper, otherwise whatever the caliper co recommends.......move the wheels thru the full steering lock with tyres on to check where to mount the rear hose bracket, ensure that the hose is not likely to be caught between any suspension or steering arms, etc.......I have vented discs on my 40 Dodge with the caliper behind the axle and was able to use the factory disc hose on the original 40 Dodge hose bracket, at the time Oz regulations wouldn't let me use stainless braided line on the street but now I could, it maybe worth checking out stainless hoses/lines also........andyd
Kirby D34
I used brake hoses for a 85 Buick Riviera, Raybestos # H51003-2, plydo dis brake kit. Kirby
Joe Flanagan
Thanks guys, I'm using calipers from a 71 El Camino and discs from a 79 Volare. The caliper is behind the axle on mine.
Olddaddy
Did you buy a conversion kit, or do your own conversion? If you bought a kit I would recommend using the hose the kit maker specifies.
