jd52cranbrook Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Got this set up from Master Lube, used alot on boats I am told. Here is the tank, suppose to fill it 1/2 with oil, then compressed air the same pressure as engine oil pumps puts out. and The gauge (liquid filled) Where I tap into the engine. At the bottom, between the distributor and oil filler tube. Then run a switch to the dash, (momentary and constant) Momentary switch for when I am starting the car, the compressed air pushes oil into the block. I watch my oil pressure gauge for a normal running reading. Then I release the switch and start the car. When the engine is running, a one way valve in the unit lets oil back into the tank until the pressure reading is as before, then closes, thus your oil is back in the tank for the next time. The constant switch is used for when you change your oil. Activate it, and all the oil is pushed out of the tank. Then after you change your oil, you refill the tank half way again, and put air back in through the shader (sp) valve on top. Pretty cool,, works good. Never have to start my engine without oil again. Quote

PatS.... Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Thanks for the post. I had never heard of anything like that before. I have a question...What is the copper line going into the filler tube for? Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted January 25, 2008 Author Report Posted January 25, 2008 That connects to the bottom plate of one of the carb filters, for my PCV valve set up. I think I posted it in a recent thread concerning PCV. Quote

jd52cranbrook Posted January 25, 2008 Author Report Posted January 25, 2008 Depending on the unit, and size,, somewhere between 200 and 500 if I remember right. Quote
