Well came to halt on my 34 bolt issue on crank shaft- probably will drill bolt for carter pin and castle nut- from the engine builder brain - shays he has done several that way that 2 bolts will actually hold but that they carry only 45 lbs torque and the carter key thing works fine.

Began the preservation/tidying up process of the 54 wagon I got from Bill Willard.

I mixed white and black rustolieum and thinned with about 10 percent lacquer thinner - that made it brush on just great

Lou,

The color turned out nice. Just curious though. Why did you mix lacquer thinner with the paint? I used XO Rust paint on my floors and brushed it on with a foam brush without any thinner. It went on good too. Was the lacquer thinner just to make it dry faster?

Maybe it will dry a tad harder when reduced with the Lacquer, and of course will dry faster. I cut my rust primer with enamel reducer which is toulene and xylene based, but I was spraying it.

I thin it a tad to get the flow and I think that the thinner paint penetrates the old rust areas a lot better I actually mixed the color because of the best reason - I had 2 cans white and black going to waste. I find using lacquer thinner makes it flow very well and dries a bit faster I think
