This one showed up in a nearby lot a few weeks ago. 70,000 orig miles, one owner. Not perfect but a nice clean driver. $12,500. The 41 coupe is also 12,500. What a shame, it's been sitting there on consignment for 2 or 3 years now. Starting to show the signs of weathering.

Norm, I have always liked those Mercs.

Unlike my Uncle who bought a new one in '57. His one and only new car.

He drove it home for lunch after owning it only a week and it spontaneously combusted in the driveway:eek: . Faulty wiring.

He replaced it with an even nicer 56 Cadillac Coupe DeVille:)

Wow...I hope they gave him his money back...lol. That's what you get when you buy a Mercury (Ford). ;) He should've bought a Plymouth.

Yep...I know where that place is. That Russian guy thinks he's selling '53 Corvettes by the way he prices things. You should have posted a bigger pic of the '42 coupe that he wants $11,000 for.

The 42 was pretty nice when it first hit the lot, but time and weather are working on it. I even noticed (gasp) a couple of rust bubbles on the left rocker panel. Story is, the owner has a terminal ailment, he and the wife sold their home, put the 42 up for consignment, bought a motorhome and have been off seeing the country ever since. The 42 would probably go for a lower offer. Nice flip top Ford in the background too, also been there a long time.

Darin, I notice the 42 is listed at $9800 on their website but the Russian lady told me $12,500 just the other day. Guess she's a little behind on the pricing.

That or she's looking for a pocket profit that her husband doesn't know about. As I hear the rain falling hard right now, I think of those cars getting water insde of them. Shame!

Norm... could you please take down the pic of that Merc. I just got my bonus check and it would look good in the garage next to my Dodge... see where this is going? :D

Bob, I was thinking the same thing. What looked nicer was the 72 El Camino for only $6800.

That said, you'd have to look at those cars pretty close. Take a look at the El Camino. Looks great in the outside pictures. However, the picture of the inside shows rust stains on the carpet on the drivers side by the door. I'd be willing to bet you'd find similar things like that on all the other cars too.
