Original Bed wood?

I have a 1948 Dodge B1B. I am in the process of restoring it to make it original. I have a question about the original bed wood. Was the original bed wood White oak or Ash? Does it really matter? What would you suggest. There is only about $50 difference in price so I am just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what the original lumber was. Thank you for your time.

I think the original bed wood was white oak painted black.
