  1. I just finished my restoration project last week. This is my grandpas pickup and I started restoring it in 2007. It has the original motor. I tried to restore it to original condition.

  6. this was a farm pickup and they have had another truck around that 58 to 60 era. I guess that answers my question. This is not for the B-1-B. I did have the dodge hood emblems in place. Thanks for the response.
  7. I am restoring a 1948 Dodge B-1-B. I found this item in the photo in the glove compartment. I dont know if it belongs to this pickup or not? Can anyone help me. I have tried to attach a photo and I hope it works. Please let me know if you have any idea if this belongs to my '48 and if so, where does it attached? Thank you
  8. Thank you all for the input. I will look for the red color you mentioned. That will be a good start anyway. I can work from there. Thanks again.
  9. Thanks you both for the replies. I will print that page in and see if they can cross reference the numbers for the correct blue. I am pretty sure mine is the dark blue, but ver faded ext. I was going to post a pic for you, but i could not figure out how. I am wondering if you have any input on the accent colors for the DODGE hood emblem or the hubcaps? Also I do believe the rims are to be black, but I would appreciate some confirmation on that as well. Thank you again.
  10. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it very much. I have ordered my bedwood in white oak:) . thanks again
  11. I am looking for some paint color advice. I have a 1948 Dodge B1B. pickup. I want to restore it to its original colors. It appears to me that the cab was is a dark blue with a black box. I am also wondering about the orange/red color on the DODGE hood emblem on the grill as well as the paint color on the hubcaps. My hubcaps seem to be more of a red color while the hood emblem appears to be more of an orange. There is very little paint on either one but they dont look the same at all to me. I would have thought they were the same color, but they don't appear to be? maybe one is just more faded than the other? I have searched the website for quite some time and I cant find anything specific to this. I did find under the knowledge section the sample paint chips, but those numbers didn't mean anything to the paint shop I took them too. They said they will check into them, but I have not talked to them again. Does anyone have a paint number or a color name for the blue for this truck as well as the hubcap and hood emblem colors. Also, I am wondering if the rims should be black or cream. I was thinking they should be cream, but now after some further research I am thinking for a 48 they should be black? Thank you for your help. Any advice would be appreciated.
  12. I have a 1948 Dodge B1B. I am in the process of restoring it to make it original. I have a question about the original bed wood. Was the original bed wood White oak or Ash? Does it really matter? What would you suggest. There is only about $50 difference in price so I am just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what the original lumber was. Thank you for your time.
  13. I am new here and am just starting to restore my 1948 Dodge B-1-B with a 4 speed transmission on the floor. It belonged to my grandpa and has been parked since 1981. Anyway I have a guy working on the mechanical for me. He has got it running very nicely, but we need a drive shaft. The front yoke is a little sloppy on mine and I am not having any luck finding one locally. I found one that I thought was going to work, but it was smaller than mine and the holes did not match up on the front. I am wondering if there is a difference between a drive shaft on a pick up with a 3-speed transmission vs. a 4-speed transmission. The guy I got the other shaft from said it was from a 48. Is it possible to have 2 different sized shafts on a 1/2 ton 48 pickup? Any input on this would be helpful. Anyone out there with a solid usable drive shaft can also email me and maybe we can work something out. Please post your comments here or email me at phoudek@gra.midco.net Thank you for your help.
