brian hood Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I have a vibration in my drive line. I was wondering if the rubber in the motor mounts could become so hard as to cause a vibration? My truck is a 53 B-4 W/ a 218 3spd on the colum. Any suggestions? Quote
MBF Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 when do you feel the vibration-is it just when the engine is running, or only when the vehicle is in gear and moving? Could be a lot of things but first it has to be narrowed down to the source. Mike Quote
brian hood Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 It seems to be there at idle, but it is a lot worse when moving under load. Quote
bach4660 Posted January 5, 2008 Report Posted January 5, 2008 maybe you have a flat tire. Just kidding Quote
IanT_Qld Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Have you eliminated a Wheel Balance problem? front is a viberation from any speed, and rear wheels will give a wobble at high speeds. there is also the tail shaft that could be dented, and require balancing. Sugest a tyre rotation and see if that changes anything. hang on you mention its at idle, so I'm out of ideas. Quote
