55 Fargo Posted December 8, 2007 Author Report Posted December 8, 2007 True enough Norm, all of the gas tank line is plumbed from the gas tank into the little brass union block on the inside of the engine area down low close to the fuel pump(about 9 inches away). I used 2 union connections, OEM has one along the frame rail.I also used plain steel lines, no bad to bend at all, most was done with my hands, with gloves on, the tighter bends were done with my tube bender. Next thing I need to do is get a sender unit installed, after that hook up the gas line via ruuber hose to fuel pump, fill with gas, check for leaks. I am not doing this unitl warm weather in the spring, do not want to paly with gas in the dead of winter, especially if something is leaking..........Fred Quote
55 Fargo Posted December 10, 2007 Author Report Posted December 10, 2007 Hi all, have another question, sorry to be a "pain in the sirocka". On the inside inner fender panel, on the right side of the engine, close to the rad, where the fuel tank line comes in and fits into the little brass union block. On the one side of the little block the 5/16 gas tank line flared fitting screws in, the other side is a lot smaller threading, that leads the rubber flex hose to the fuel pump. Why is the thread size small on one side? What do I use to make the rubber flex hose, join into this fitting, the other end will of course connect to the fuel pump. As I am making my own rubber flex hose line, how should I make it to fit his brass union block and to tie into the fule pump. Is this small one end going to reduce th gas flow from the tank..................Fred Quote
