Guardrail Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I have a driveline vibration in my 46 P15. The old Detroit Lubricator joint has been replaced with a modern cross/slip yoke afair, but the rear joint is still the million dollar tiny stocker. The rear joint seems to have more side to side end play than I would like. Now after that long winded statement, what I'm trying to find out is: Is there a later model companion flange for the differential that would accept a more modern u-joint? Thanx for your help! Quote
martybose Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 I've no idea where to find one, but my 47 has a driveshaft that was a Mopar aftermarket item which had flange adapters, modern U-joints and a slip joint. I believe it was made in the 50's. I bought it over ten years ago, and it's still going strong. Marty Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 If you do a search of the forum there has been a few people that converted to modern U joints. They had a local driveshaft shop make up the new ends. I haven't done it yet, but I did call a local shop about converting my drive shaft to modern U Joints. They said they could do it for about $150 to $200 depending on what they had to do. So, you might want to check around with them. Quote
