Ed Griffin
I saw this on another website and checked out the link below. Looks like a nice little setup. It's the Hudson forum so some of you may have seen this. Here's a quote from the builder: "Hugh Morrow My cradle is here for you to copy and if you can think of any improvements I am all ears. It is made so that you can turn a car and load a car in an eight foot cieling." http://www.hudsoncollector.com/forum_viewtopic.php?16.
Normspeed
That gentleman is serious about his hobby. I like that crown vic in the photos too.
PatS....
That is one usefull hunk of engineering. You could build that, use it to do you car and sell it when done and maybe even make a few bucks. I don't know about towing it on the street at speed as he mentions in the last entry
Don Coatney
I don't know about towing it on the street at speed as he mentions in the last entry I agree Pat; The caster wheels he is using look a bit undersized. They probably work well in the garage but I dont think I would trust them bouncing down the road on an unsprung trailer.
Allan Faust
I'm in the process of building a rotisserie myself.... I'll upload the details tonight if anyone is interested..... a little better design in my opinion, and only a couple hundred to build (due to the price of the iron...) and made by an engineer... PatS....
Go for it, Allan. I'm allways interested in different approaches to things. My problem is that I know I should haul the body off the frame and do the underside and frame right, never a better time, but I want the damn thing running, I don't wanna be doing this the rest of my life. I wanna drive!!! If it takes much longer I might have to make a place for my walker...you know...the one with the little seat built in. BobT-47P15
.....that unit with the Ford rolling down the street on its own. Hope his chains are stout. Think I might even use a couple more of those boomers for security. Well, maybe he's not going real far.....like only to town to a body shop or something. Nice rotisserie - doubt I will ever have occasion to use one, but certainly would be handy.
Allan Faust
I attached a pic of the rotisserie plan. I downloaded it off the internet and is proprietary to the owner/creator that mentioned on his site that it could be shared as long as it wasn't modified... If someone wants both pdf documents, you can get them from my system by going here; http://142.217.86.36:3550 username p15d24 password mopar The 2 files are 34 KB and 2.0 Mb.... The author even shows the original mistakes he made in the design, and how he changed it. (don't take the materials list off the plan, it has an error on it, take it from the document). Also, one of the main reasons why I like it is because it has a lower center of gravity compared to the one on the hudson forum. When I have the rotisserie built (in a few weeks) I'll post the results.... Allan
