I installed my new king pins yesterday and used all four shims on the drivers side to get a fairly tight fit.  On the passenger side the remaining 4 shims I had did not leave a very tight fit. I checked the bearing thickness on the three remaining bearings I had and found one that was thicker than the rest.  I used it with the 4 shims and got a real nice tight fit. The drivers side is a bit looser and has a little movement. Should I take it apart and see if I have a thicker bearing or is a slightly loose fit ok?  BTW I don’t have the bolt in that holds the pin because the recess in the pin is not as deep as the original so the bolt does not go in all the way. I will have to grind it down for the correct geometry.
