BeBop138 Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 I know this question has been asked before---with the early t-5 with 4.03 first gear, can other gears like the 3.76 be interchanged? Can you custom, so to speak the gears sets from one to another--these are the NWC-GM S-10 units. I have one that has the electric speedo and I have a chance to get one with the mechanical, but they have the deep first gear, so are they interchangeable? Thanks....... Quote

james curl Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Try these people, www.standardtransmission.com or 1 800 783 8726. They are in Ft. Worth Tx. Talked to them yesterday at a swap meet and was told that they could do custom input shafts in any length, dia and spline count that you need. Did not ask the price for this service. Was told that they could make me a input shaft that duplicates the MOPAR trsnsmission input shaft and allow for a 1/2" adapter between the transmission and the bell housing. They are a Tremec Elite Distributor. They say that they service all Domestic high performance standard transmissions. Quote
David Muma Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 http://www.inliners.org/ for an article called The T-5 Tranny - The easy way. It's a mix of camaro and s-10 to get the higher low gear and the forward shifter. Quote
Johnny S Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 The April 2008 Street Rodder Magazine has a decent article by a Ryan Manson ( ryan.manson@sourceinterlink.com ) on T-5 Transmissions and converting/adapting them starting on p.168 with some photos thru page 178. Probably shows on their website at least in part at www.streetrodderweb.com Quote
