My 48P finally gets a breath of fresh air

After 3 long years of repairs and reworking, my baby gets out in the sun.

It got, new firewall,front floor,complete dash refreshing,motor,trans,rear,radiator, fuel tank,r&p steering,disc brakes,wheels & tires, rewiring. Will be finishing the tilt front in a week or two. Take a look at pics. what do ya think?

How does the r&p handel. Would like to use one in mine but have heard stories both ways. One side likes and another side thinks it was to sensitive. Keep us posted on what you think. What v8 did you use?

Nice work! I like what you did with the dash. Any other pics of that in progress? I am currently looking at new gauges or retrofitting the old ones. I like the look of the originals but I want something more accurate. Classic Instruments has some great looking custom gauges they did for a 35'P. That looks awesome Bryan.....Stance looks very old school, but with " new school " components. One question though....and I'm sure you've considered this, but the " go fast " pedal & location of the steering column...Unless you drive using right foot for gas and left for brake.....that columns going to be in the way....Are you planning on droping the gas pedal down a bit?

Thanks Guys, I'm glad I'm headed in a good direction.

48Mirage - It has a 8-3/4 rear from a '71 Satellite, I haven't driven it yet,but I'm sure it will be very responsive. The motor is a '73 340 w/727 trans.

KirbyD34 - The rad is an aluminum crossflow from Northern. I bought it at a swap meet for $50. It was only used for drag racing. In good shape too.

NatesSedan - I liked the domed glass on these gauges and the chrome bezels matched the stainless on the dash.

Splat1955 - Well I thought of that and the swinging pedal set-up that I have will only let me get it over to the right so far, because I have a booster on the other side of the firewall, it will be into the valve cover. So, I have thought about it and am going to cut the brake pedal arm that was spaced to the left too far already (when I got the car) and move it to the right (after measuring the pedal travel. This should put it closer to the accel. pedal and under the column tube without sitting too high. The pedal as it is, is from a 70 Swinger v8 car. The floor was mated to the angle of this pedal, so that pressing on the bottom of this pedal to the floor will give you full throttle with only the primaries, and sliding your foot up a little to hinge the pedal and go further to the floor will give you WOT with the secondaries. At this point, the brake pedal is the one to redo. I will make it work. Ideas are pouring out and I can't write them down fast enough. Thanks again, All of you.
