stevenelle Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 On the top two piston rings, there is a notch on one inner edge. Should this notch be positioned up or down? What is the purpose of the notch? Thanks Quote
Guest wisner955 Posted November 17, 2006 Report Posted November 17, 2006 I'm not sure what you mean by a "notch"? Most compression rings have a "dot" on the top surface of the ring that indicates the top side. This "dot" is a round depression in the surface about 1/16" diameter. Paul Quote
grey beard Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Never saw a new set of rings that did not have instructions with them. Typically any dot or mark goes up, from my experience. LOL:) Quote
