PatS.... Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Beautiful car either way!!!!! Quote
Reg Evans Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 Does the "correct" front bumper have the big "wings" like the '42 Chrysler ?Your grille guard isn't too bad... the ones I really hate had another set of bumper uprights, the tops of which had knobs that made them look like the butt-end of a wooden baseball bat ! Are your bumper bolts round-head (like a carriage bolt) or do they have oval heads ? Frank Yes Frank. It looks like this one. And yes again. I need 2 oval headed bumper bolts for the guards. Anybody have some or know who does? Quote
blueskies Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I prefer the "without" look myself. I think the bumper guards are chunky teeth that distract from the gracefull smile of the bumper. They catch the eye and draw attention to themselves instead of flowing with the lines of the car. They make the car look taller and narrower to me. Not only that, they must be an enourmous wind drag during the BIG RACE. Pete Quote

Scroll down a bit. http://www.vintageford.com/sect_search.cfm?LineName=V-8&Line=V-8&Category=Bumpers&StartRow=41&PageNum=3 Hey Pete.....yeah,butt..... I'll also need the extra weight of the guards to keep the tires from breaking loose so easily. Quote
