JamesF Posted May 8, 2019 Report Posted May 8, 2019 I’m looking for a source for a radiator for my 49 Plymouth sedan. There are multiple sellers offering radiators that are supposed to fit but they will not. The problem is the welded or brazed on mounting flanges. The Plymouth flange is unusual in that the flange is mounted about an 1-1/4” back from the front at the bottom then sloped forward to the top at the front. All of the radiators that I can find have the mounting flanges straight up and down. They are unusable because they move the radiator so far forward that there is not enough room to put a fan belt between the fan and the radiator. any ideas? Quote

JerseyHarold Posted May 8, 2019 Report Posted May 8, 2019 Second-series '49 and 1950 Plymouth radiators are different than 1951-52. I found that out first-hand when I bought a '49 radiator for my '52. Quote
JamesF Posted May 8, 2019 Author Report Posted May 8, 2019 JerseyHarold, thanks for the information. I really thought they all were alike mechanically (49 thru 51). I suppose that there must be other differences as well. James Fuller Quote
