Nick Nichols Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 (edited) I have a 1939 Plymouth P7 business coupe. The wiper arm for the original motor is very flimsy. The wiper motor has a stud with a hole in it and the wiper arm slides through that stud and then its pushed downward and locks into place. Problem is that it is SUPER flimsy. Is there an adapter kit that can change the stud into a later type fitting where the arm is pushed down into a slotted fitting? Below is my motor. Nick Edited December 25, 2018 by Nick Nichols Quote
blucarsdn Posted January 5, 2019 Report Posted January 5, 2019 It would appear that you have the earlier, pre-'39 style of wiper motor. My '39 P8 had a wiper motor that had the round grooved type of wiper arm attachment. The '36 Fords and earlier used that "wire/bale" type of wiper arm, they were the pits' You should consider converting your wiper to an electric unit. Quote
Dbolter Posted January 6, 2019 Report Posted January 6, 2019 Who could help with an electronic conversion? I have a 1938 chrysler with a bad wiper motor, sent it to Ficken and he said is was the wrong unit for my car could not be rebuilt and the correct one is impossible to find...... any suggestions would be appreciated .... thanks ~d Quote
blucarsdn Posted January 10, 2019 Report Posted January 10, 2019 I would suggest that you go back to the comments I made to Noah on Monday about upgrading the wiper motor on his D100... Wm Quote
