My 93 F-250 needs both license plate lights replaced.  I bought 2 new whole units in the heat of the summer.  It was too hot to change them.  I NEED to before it gets too cold.  I dont have a garage so need to pick a decent sunny day without too much wind to blow dirt in my face.  This is a follow up to the thread on why we need them.

I looked breifly the other day and the trailer hitch blocks off access from the bottom or back side to unsnap them.  Can I crush the sockets enough to pull them out the chrome side?  Then could pull wire enough to cut off wires , reconnect them and put everything back from same chrome side.

Or take a punch and punch them thru the bumper, cut the wires, stick them thru, wire up and snap them in?
