have a few dodge 48-53 1 1/2 plus ton trucks and building at least one nice keeper and maybe one to sell. have a 60, 61, and 65 series heaters. the 60 is basic. the 61 and 65 look similar except the 65 series has the defroster duct on the right side of the box instead of left and less or no directional air door on left as result. the 65 also says "truck master" in the middle area. is one heater better or more valuable then another?

Don't know about high series heaters, but I'll bet every man-jack on this forum would like to have a fresh air setup for their truck. Seems to be one of those mythical, sought-after items like right side sun visors that Dodge just didn't make enough of to go around . . . . . .:) :)

Yeah, I finally just gave up hoping to find one that wasn't priced like it was made from gold and just bought a pair of visors from "another" vehicle. So I have a driver's side visor if anyone was looking for one. I could send pictures. Just give me a shout.

the fresh air system was a bolt on option according to the options booklet on the web site. as far a I can tell it could be add to any truck with or with out any offered heater at the time. I too am finding them somewhat rare.

Try these guys. They have new heater/ac units that fit many older cars and trucks. I'm not sure if they carry something that would be considered a fresh air unit but a phone call could answer that question. These are quality units from all accounts that I've read and heard. Just one option, but definetly not the only one.

Out in Montana, I saw a B series Dodge that had a heater control panel with four matching knobs - Air (for the fresh air intake), Defroster, Temperature (for a cable control to the hot water valve on the head, and Fan. This was in a 48 or 49 Dodge 1 1/2 ton truck.

I have never seen one of these deluxe panels before. My own B1B has just the Fan switch. Defroster action on mine is affected by opening or closing a very small door on the side of the heater box. Additionally, my truck heater is mounted upside down, if the 'Model 61" designation stamped on the front is any fair sample of up and down. Defroster ducts come from the far right side of the box at the bottom. Maybe this upside down installation was due to the heater hose inlet positions through the fireewall, but this is just a guess.

I have wondered if a heater contorl panel from a MoPar automotible would be similar in function to this deluxe truck idea. Anybody switch-hit between cars and trucks enough to be conversant about such accessories? Might be good to know if they are similar in function and/or application. JMHO:)
