Wanted Doors for 1961 Chev Apache OT

Hi all, anybody have any decent shape doors for a 1961 Chev 1/2 ton for sale, or know possibly where a decent pair could be found. A friend of mine has this really cool 1961 Apache pickup truck, it has nice paint, but he would like to replace the doors, as he did a lot of rust work on the door bottoms that keep re-rusting/bubbling. Before he strips them and welds in extensive metal, he is on the look-out for a decent set of doors. I know it's along shot, but just in case some of you may know where some are.........Thanx Fred

Yah, it is a neat looking truck, its got power steering, a 350 4 bolt main engine, 4 spd trans, it's had automatics, but it's back to a 4 speed, its got a later model posi diff, pwer brakes, with disc up front. The truck is a real nice driver, this pic was 10 years ago, it still looks almost as good, it is even winter driven. But the owner takes good car of it, it's going to get another paint job next spring...Fred

I believe those doors are being reproduced. There is always a guy selling new doors at one of the swap meets I go to each year. Don't remember the name of the place but I believe they are located in Slinger, WI. They don't make them, just carry a lot of reproduction doors and fenders. They may have a web site. Just do a google search for the doors and it might pop up if they have web site.

Hey Fred,

I've got a '65 truck and they offer a door for the 64-66 brand new. No doors for the 60-63. Due to the wraparound windshield on those models the door was shaped different. '64-'66 did not have that option. Keep looking for used, they are out there somewhere. You can buy lower patch panels for them. I've installed them and that is about the best way to go, if you can't find a door.

I've had doors off a '62 truck, that was 10 years ago though and let them get away. Good luck with the search.
