38plymouth Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 I'm just about ready to have my 2" dual exhaust made, on the original exhaust when I pulled it apart there is a strange flange on it. The exhaust pipe goes thru the flange and is welded, then it sticks up inside the exhaust manifold. I'm going to need two of these welded to the new pipes, the problem is all the local parts stores look at me like I'm crazy when I ask for them. All they have are the regular type that slip over like a collector pipe. Where can I find these and do they have a special name? Quote
james curl Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 Unless somwone here is willing to send you one you will have to check with an independent muffler shop. Most carry a varity of flanges to put on pipes, if that doesn't do it you can always make your own. A good sabersaw with a good metal cutting blade and a slow speed will cut 1/4" steel plate or you can draw the circle out on the metal and drill a series it 1/8" dia holes as close together as possible and then knock the center out and use a good large half round file to file to the line. 38plymouth Posted July 31, 2007 Author Report Posted July 31, 2007 I'm going to a local muffler shop today to see if they have them, I really didn't want to deal with them. I had a bad experience with them in the past and they usually want to do all the work instead of sell you anything. Quote
