1953 dodge truck b-4 rear bumper

 Need help on rear truck bumper.did they use front bumpers or actual rear bumpers? I have a rear step bumper made out of steel, it bolts on  the back sides of the rear fender corners.it extends maybe a foot past the tailgate.idont know if this was a factory or dealer or aftermarket part.it is in great solid shape .but I'd rather have a rear bumper.thanks
