Some of the NOS 6 volt bulbs have been sitting around for many years . Have you ever had one separate between the base and the glass when you install it ? I have been giving my old bulbs a bead of super glue at that joint . Use the thin stuff not the gel and the glue will pretty much run around the surface by itself when you hold the bulb horizontally.

Clever idea. Always aggravating when the glass pops out of the base of any bulb during removal. I finally starting applying a thin coat of bulb grease too.
