doogan Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 I have a B-1 1949 pickup with the 218. Lucked up on an old Plymouth 3.9 rear end in excellent condition. I'm thinking about putting this one in my truck. Would that be a good choice? Thanks Also if anyone knows of a gland nut for the temperature gauge fitting I can sure use one. Thanks Guys Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 I have an extra used gland nut and it will work fine with a little sealer . Send me your address in a PM and it is yours . I started with 4.11 gears and then went to 3.9 gears . There was a noticeable difference but in my opinion it wasn't worth the trouble . I ended up going with a 2.94 rear end from a Dakota as I don't have hills to climb and I am happy with my final choice . And no , I don't have to slip or ride the clutch on take off . 1 Quote
