Leviathan Posted April 4, 2015 Report Posted April 4, 2015 Hello again guys... I am poppin' the head on the 50. I wire wheeled around the head bolts to remove the crud and rust and soaked the bolts in PB overnight. Used a propane torch to heat up the first bolt that I am attempting to remove. My question is this...for the many of you who have done this umteen times...how much torque can these bolts handle? I am afraid of bustin one off. Any Tips that might be helpful? Thanks in advance. wayfarer Posted April 4, 2015 Report Posted April 4, 2015 Sometimes rust can develop in the annular space in the head and hold the bolt. 'If' the bolts seems unduly tight, then use a rattle gun in forward drive to ever-so-slightly-turn the bolt, then in reverse, they should back out easier. 1 Quote
