Bingster Posted March 29, 2015 Report Posted March 29, 2015 I'm going to jack up the front end and let it down on a couple of r.r. ties while I remove the front wheels and work on that. First, where is the best place to place the hydraulic jack to get the car up? Which frame member? Then, use that same frame member for the ties? I'm on dirt and don't want to use jack stands. I won't be going under the car. Quote
james curl Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 My driveway is dirt and I use four sheets of 3/4" treated plywood to park and work on my car. The plywood lasts about 10 years before needing replaced. The plywood allows the use of a rolling floor jack to raise the car, all though you can use a rolling floor jack on dirt it is difficult to do. The plywood also makes it more pleasant when working under the car. Quote
Bingster Posted March 30, 2015 Author Report Posted March 30, 2015 I've thought about doing that. Plywood is still a little scary. Do yours is pretty safe, you think? The car feels solid? Quote
