Mrbrylcreem Posted December 7, 2014 Report Posted December 7, 2014 Hello. I am busy replacing the front shackles and bushings on my front springs. When I screw the bushings into the existing threaded holes in the front of the chasses. They almost slide into place. Should they not screw in tightly. It's almost like the outside of the bushing is just to small. 1 Quote
MBF Posted December 7, 2014 Report Posted December 7, 2014 Is the eye in the chassis worn and hogged out? I had the same problem with a set of shackles I bought years ago aftermarket and ended up going to NAPA. There was a difference in the size. Mike Quote
1952B3b23 Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 on my 52 B3b I had to replace the eye that the bushing threads into in the chassis. My old ones where all egged out and the threads shot. I could take my new bushing and easily thread it in and wiggle it all around, kind of like what you're describing. I purchased my new shackles from "Rare Parts" in CA. Very high quality product and made in the USA. The eyes in the chassis I bought used off of member Tim aka 48dodger. good luck. -Chris Quote
