austinsailor Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 I'm considering buying a Desoto Airflow that is in the Seattle area. I'm 2000 miles away. Would anyone want to go by and take a look and let me know what they think? It would be the step before I get on the airplane, maybe save me a trip, but I think it's a fine car. If you're willing, maybe even today. If you have an interest and are willing, please let me know and I'll get the info to you. Thanks a lot. Gene Gruender 512-680-3599 austin.sailor@yahoo.com Quote
austinsailor Posted October 6, 2014 Author Report Posted October 6, 2014 Guys, I'm really surprised nobody wanted to take a '36 Desoto Airflow for a drive. I'm flying up Wednesday to check it out. Quote
David Strieb Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 A more specific location would have been helpful. I'm 23 miles south from mid seattle, that can be up to 1 1/2hrs on any given day. Quote

austinsailor Posted October 7, 2014 Author Report Posted October 7, 2014 highway 4 Kingston wa 98345 But I'll be there in the morning. I didn't realize it was that big an area to matter. I'll post the result in a day or two. Gene Quote
wayfarer Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 ...when you get in to SeaTac you'll soon realize just how big the 'Seattle' area is. Some folks even consider places like Monroe to be part of the Seattle area so vernacular is important. It is real easy to spend a couple hours getting across town. Quote
austinsailor Posted October 7, 2014 Author Report Posted October 7, 2014 Damn, Austin was like that. But that was only going 4 or 5 miles at times. I assume you mean because of distance, not gridlock. :<) Quote
wayfarer Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 ...both...and the 'wrong' time of the day can be brutal.....I haven't been to Seattle for awhile now but I doubt that it has improved........ Quote
David Strieb Posted October 8, 2014 Report Posted October 8, 2014 Gene, Kingston requires a long drive around the southern end Puget Sound, via the Tacoma area, or a ride on the Washington State Ferry System from the north side of Seattle across Puget Sound. Hope the airflow meets your expectations. Quote
austinsailor Posted October 8, 2014 Author Report Posted October 8, 2014 Thanks, David. The seller suggested the ferry route, I did notice I could go the other way. I'll be in a hurry to get there, so I'll take the ferry. But I'll have Thursday and Friday morning to wander, so no telling where I'll end up. Gene Quote
