It's a small eBay world after all.  I just saw that about 10 minutes ago. Yeah, my dog saw it and said RUFF !!

This car is quite rare because according to Oldtimer's Automobile Gallery, only 950 R/S coupes this year were produced. I have a friend who has a 1938 Dodge 4 door convertible which only 132 were originally made. I really hope that this one can be saved and restored to original condition. Also wondering how many of this styled '38 R/S coupe now exist. Thanks for posting these pics.

That's also what the Standard Catalog Of Chrysler 1924 to 1990 indicates for the model D8 series R/S coupe. I didn't know if this is a D8 or a series D10. My info has no production #'s for the D10 series. I also think it's a worthwhile restoration project that hopefully someone will undertake!!!

One time, back in the 1970s, I could have bought a (probably) 1938 or so Chrysler four door convertible that was in pretty good original

condition and driveable.  I think they wanted $1200 for it.    It was sitting on the lot at a Ford dealership.     I wonder, now, how many of

those were made??

My info says 177 for series C18. Bet they only gave the guy a couple hundred bucks as a trade in.

Judging by the tags on the firewall it appears to be American-built which means it is a D8.   The D10 was a Plymouth-based Dodge built only in Canada (DeLuxe Six - Plymouth P6 with a Dodge nose).   The D9 was also a Plymouth-based Dodge, built in the U.S. for export and also in Canada as the Six (Plymouth P5 with a Dodge nose).   The D8 was built in Canada and sold as the Custom Six.
