dwest999 Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 P15-D24 Forum, I am new to vintage Mopar, and want to thank you all for the great information I've gotten on this forum over the past few months. I've search the forum over and haven't been able to determine if the chrome vent window trim (between the vent and window) on a '46 Plymouth Coupe is the same as the trim found on a '48 Plymouth Coupe. I think it should be, but can't validate. Also, how was the chrome attached to the window. Any insights anyone could provide would be much appreciate. Thanks. Dave (in Houston) Quote
jcmiller Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 The part numbers are the same for 1946-1948 (1152-263 (right); 1152-264 (left)). The division bar is held to the glass with rubber "tape," at least on my '42. I think there is an official name for the rubber material, but I can't think of it. Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 It's a rubber seal pressed tight between the chrome trim and the glass. 6-7 years ago (how the time flies....) I posted some photo's of the jig I made to assembly the vent window when I replaced the damaged glass and dried out seal. I cannot find my thread, at least not by a quick search... Well, I actually used rubber from an tire tube. I lubricated a wide rubber strip with soap and pressed in with the window. Finally cut the excess rubber off along the trim egde with a carpet knife.
