My 1940 Dodge had the crank handle when I bought it in 1971 and yep I did have to start it using the crank handle a few times when the battery went flat.........you learnt quickly the right and "wrong" way to hold the handle when it backfired..........lol..........fixed up that problem when I converted it to 12volts to go with the 318 Poly V8 in 1973.......lol..........BUT the 1941 Plymouth Coupe I had till a few mths ago had the crank hole in the bottom of the grille and the crank "bolt" on the lower pulley......no crank handle tho' and it had been converted to 12 volts so didn't need the handle anyway.......lol.......andyd
